Dr. Wood graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1974, and practice in Davenport, Iowa, for 25 years before moving with his wife, Jo, to Colorado Springs on August 1, 1999. He is a family man with 4 children and 5 grandkids. After five years in his initial location on Kelly Johnson Blvd. and Academy, he moved his practice to the present location in his new office building off Powers and Research.
His 43 years of practice has always been family oriented caring for babies soon after their birth to his most elderly patient of 97 years of age. One of the greatest feelings you can have is to relieve the severe colic symptoms in a three month old baby who hasn't slept more than thirty minutes at a time since he was born! My own kids were seldom sick, says Dr. Wood, and if they were, it was only half as long as most others. This is a comment heard frequently from families who have been under regular chiropractic care.
Dr. Wood uses the Gonstead Technique of chiropractic which is a specific type of chiropractic adjustment. There is a certain way a vertebra will misalign and through an exam and x-rays, we can determine that direction and fix it. It takes more than a general manipulation of the back or twist of the neck in both directions to get the best result. (See our page on the Gonstead Difference).
Chiropractic is the largest natural healing art in the world. Discovered in 1895, it has brought much pain relief to millions of people worldwide. My #1 goal for every patient is to prevent disc degeneration and restore mobility so our bodies will grow and age naturally with minimal loss of activity.
Come---age well with us!!!
